iThemba Lethu is a registered non-profit organisation based in Durban, South Africa. The organisation was constituted in November 2000 and seeks to impact the lives of children and young people whose futures are threatened by HIV/AIDS.

This is achieved by focusing on two of the most vulnerable groups of children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic:

• Babies orphaned or abandoned as a result of HIV/AIDS
• Young adolescents who are increasingly becoming infected with HIV/AIDS

iThemba Lethu means 'I have a destiny'. Our vision is to impact the lives of the babies and young people in Durban, South Africa, whose future is being threatened by HIV/AIDS. To see these babies and young people regain a meaningful destiny by recognizing the value of their lives, and being a part of a secure family environment.

We are delighted to announce that we have expanded both the Family Integration Programme and the HIV Prevention Programme. Read more...
