Children belong in families!
They deserve to be raised as sons & daughters.
Babies/children aged newborn to 3 years old, are placed in our care by various social welfare offices in and around Durban. Our role and purpose is to facilitate their reunification or adoption, back into their immediate/extended biological family or new families respectively.
Our hearts are to restore what God meant for the good! Babies and children who were left abandoned/orphaned and vulnerable, to love and nurture them into a loving, safe and forever family.
Basic design of the programme includes the following key principles:
|Integration of orphaned & abandoned children into permanent families through reunification/adoption||A transition home rather than a long-term orphanage or institution||One full time housemother per 6 babies / toddlers, as a primary attachment for their well being until placement is made|
|Additional support staff i.e. Day Caregiver, Night Caregiver & Housekeeper per transition home, help to provide a secure, and loving environment||A dedicated social worker to manage individual cases of each child assists the Welfare Departments processes of administration||Screening of potential adoptive parents by our social worker improves the rate of placements, in accordance with requirements of the Children’s Court|
|Provides opportunities for local & international volunteers to get involved in the overall wellbeing of the babies / toddlers||Providing resources & a support network to adoptive parents and volunteers||Assisting other organisations to set up transition homes through the free distribution of our resources|
The fruit of God’s heart …
Since 2001 – December 2015, we have facilitated 88 adoptions and 24 reunifications
